Includes OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE!

In this special post, I am going to give to you some of the happenings and highlights in the Aqours 6th LoveLive! live performance! And yes, they were made on at least two venues across Japan!

So far, what were my reviews and impressions of this live performance made by these awesome and lovely ladies of the School Idol Universe? Read more to find out! You can use the Contents Navigation to move you around on different parts of this post!

Summary

Let us make a summary, in which both OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE are parallel!

The show has started when their name cards have appeared. After that, it begins with their titular live show title, KU-RU-KU-RU Cruller!, as their intro song.

In OCEAN STAGE, they had performed “Hop? Stop? Nonstop!” and “DREAMY COLOR”, while their MC and Intros are in between. The SUNNY STAGE has different song set, which contains one more song. “Taiyou o Oikakero!” and “Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiterukai?” were the two songs that replaced “Hop? Stop? Nonstop!”, while DREAMY COLOR remained the same. Their Intro Section has ended after they had performed DREAMY COLOR in both of the Ocean and Sunny Stages.

Aqours – “DREAMY COLOR” PV

To mirror the song set from each of the two stages in Section 1A, “Yume de Yozora o Terashitai” was performed by Aqours minus the third years, while “Mattete Ai no Uta” was performed by Aqours Third Years on the SUNNY STAGE. “Shojo Ijo no ga Koi ga Shitai” was performed by Aqours 2nd years, on the other hand, on both OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE.

In Section 1B, the song sets are different from each other. The OCEAN STAGE uses the songs from the “Winter Vacation” album, while the SUNNY STAGE uses the “Volume 2 set” of the First Solo Concert Album series of each of the Aqours members. Basically, the “Volume 1 set” was present on the Day 1 of the SUNNY STAGE live performance, which was not included in this Review and Summary post.

The Section 1 has been ended, thus the First Aqours Special Medley has been played as an intermission.

Section 2 has been started when they had performed “Aqours Pirates Desire” and the extended version of “Daydream Warrior”. After those two songs, they performed one more song, they did MC, and another two songs, just before an another intermission (Aqours Special Medley 2). Those songs, right after “Aqours Pirates Desire” and “Daydream Warrior”, are differing from each other in the OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE sets.

Right after the second intermission, the third section has started with “Aozora Jumping Heart”, then followed by songs and MCs which were different from each of the two stages. Only “Aozora Jumping Heart” and “Namida×Janai” were the mutual songs present in both OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE. And to give you heads up, the duration of the Section 3 in SUNNY STAGE is quite longer (about 20 more minutes), due to the fact that the MC part has some major announcements made there.

The Encore Stage has been ensued right after they had performed one last song after “Namida×Janai“.

At the Final Section of the live performance, they had performed “not ALONE not HITORI” and “SUKI for you DREAM for you!” as their ending songs. And again, the Final Section in the SUNNY STAGE is longer again due to the major announcements made there during their MC and Ending Remarks part. The live performance has been concluded, while the members of Aqours had finally thanked the fans while leaving the stage.

Review

In the review part of mine, this is going to be simple, yet complex. Basically, this shall talk only about the “Day 2” performance set.

Based from the lineup of songs in both stges, it seems they are slowly changing from genre to genre — in which it has totally become Aqours’ strategy in making all kinds of songs of all genres.

They had brought back the all-time favorites, like “Koi ni Naritai AQUARIUM”, and the one of their iconic songs, “Aozora Jumping Heart”, from the hit TV Anime Series.

OCEAN STAGE has some songs that appeared in the WHITE ISLAND live, notably the “Winter Vacation” album songs, while the SUNNY STAGE has the songs from their respective “First Solo Concert Album” series.

Their strategy in changing their clothes before Section 1 has occurred after DREAMY COLOR, wherein they had performed songs, in which some members are not present there. Basically, the other members who were not present are already in the backstage, changing and preparing their own live performance set later.

Cotton Candy Ei-Ei-Oh! Special MV

Ruby Kurosawa (Ai Furihata)’s song, “Cotton Candy Ei-Ei-Oh!” is really the highlight here, during the Section 1b of the live show (SUNNY STAGE Day 2). Even Dia’s VA is also present while wearing her regular school uniform, dancing along with Ruby. And not to mention that video has gained at least 4 million views on YouTube.

The two intermission sets that came right after Section 1 and Section 2 are “remixed” versions of Aqours songs, three for each set. Namely, it’s “Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiterukai?”, “Koi ni Naritai AQUARIUM”, and “HAPPY PARTY TRAIN” in the first intermission set, while on the second intermission set contains “MITAIKEN HORIZON”, “Yume Kataru yori Yume Utaou”, and “KU-RU-KU-RU Cruller!”. It seems that they are glimpsing us with the upcoming song album which is about to be released soon, along with their new songs, soon.

In Section 2, “Aqours Pirates Desire” and the extended version of “Daydream Warrior” were the mutuals in both OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE. The rest of the songs were totally different and parallel from each other — either they differ from stage or they differ by Day 1 or Day 2 performance. And then, this is my first time in seeing Aqours using their new stage costume this time around, along with Shuka (You’s VA) waving her flag wildly.

For the next section, notably the third section, Aqours has presented us their “glittered” version of their “Aozora Jumping Heart” costumes. Basically, only two or three songs, “Aozora Jumping Heart”, “Aqours☆HEROES”, and “Namida×Janai” were the mutuals here. While the rest of the songs are different from either two different stages or from two-day performances, the Section 3 in SUNNY STAGE is quite longer, due to the fact that some stuffs there are announced during their MC segment. And generally, the songs right after “Namida×Janai” are just parallel. MIRAI TICKET and WONDERFUL STORIES are just “Episode 13” songs from the respective TV Anime Series Seasons 1 and 2, from the OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE, respectively. And then, an encore has ensued right after.

During encore, the fans had did it once again — doing the “Aqours Rainbow”, ever since the “5th Live” live performance. It’s been a while since they did it, right?

After the encore, they did the last two songs there, while the MC and ending remarks are in the between of the two songs. Again, the SUNNY STAGE is quite longer again because some bonus announcements have been made there, right before they performed their ending song.

I am very happy for them, since they were able to perform in the live stage once again, in two years after the pandemic onslaught. Since it is their 6th major live performance, I am very impressed in some parts, especially when Ai Furihata has performed that “meme song” for the very first time in the live stage. Quite funny, but then it’s very difficult for them to practice that such dance movement because it’s very fast!

“Namida×Janai” is some one of the kind of songs that I had been hearing in some of the local radio stations in my country. In which it is a song full of mellow, this song had made me come closer to Aqours, somehow.

Their mascot round dragon, named “Kururun”, was only highlighted during their “KU-RU-KU-RU Cruller!” song performance, in which it is floating on the top of the arena ceiling. Arisa (Dia’s VA) was able to do “Buu-Buu-Desuwa” on it, though. But then, I didn’t really see much of Kururun being interacted with Aqours too much throughout the entire live show performance, in both of the OCEAN STAGE and SUNNY STAGE.

In the end, I had concluded that this live performance can be an average up to above average (Score 8/10). But then, this is just my review score, and it should not be a basis whether this live show performance is good or bad (Basically, same as with the Episode Review of Anime shows by other reviewers).

Other Remarks

Basically, finishing the first and second parts does not really mean that there would be no third.

So then, at the end of their SUNNY STAGE Day 2 performance, they had announced an another round of their 6th Live series! This time, the subtitle shall be called as the WINDY STAGE.

The WINDY STAGE of Aqours 6th LoveLive! Series shall take place on Tokyo Dome, on the weekends of June 25-26, 2022. To add up some detail, the crew from the “Uranohoshi Music Orchestra” shall be joining Aqours this time around, just like last time in their 4th Live stage.

Shall it be a resolution to their delayed “6th LoveLive! Dome Tour” or not, the Aqours’ adventures in being School Idols shall continue in the vast seas of dreams.

The Aqours themselves have proven to us that they shall never let us down and be sad forever. In fact, they were just around in order to cheer us up, and they were always working hard every day.

This is something to look forward into! And to repeat… Their 7th LoveLive! live performance is possible due to their upcoming “7th Anniversary Project” as Aqours.

About LoveLive! Sunshine!!
©2017 プロジェクトラブライブ!サンシャイン!!

LoveLive! Sunshine!! (ラブライブ!サンシャイン!!) is an Anime Series — a second installment of the popular franchise, known as the LoveLive! Series. It debuted around July 2016 since its first episode. The series lasted for at least two seasons (Season Two debuted on October 2017), and lasting for at least 13 Episodes each.

And in January 2019, the movie, LoveLive! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow, has appeared in Japanese cinemas nationwide, and also on the overseas worldwide, just few months later after its premiere. The story of the movie takes place after the events happened in the Final Episode of the Anime’s Second Season.

This Anime Series has been re-run and re-streamed many times (either on their YouTube channel or other streaming platforms), not only due to popularity. But the sole purpose is they are usually making a ‘tie-up promotion’ of their upcoming projects, like live show performances (i.e. Guilty Kiss 2nd Live), and so on.

Chika Takami is just a sophomore schooler who studies at Uranohoshi Girls’ High School. Until one day, she saw a group of School Idols dancing on a stage via a jumbotron screen. She was fascinated with them, until she decided and attempted to form a club, in which she wanted to form a School Idol Group. And in order to achieve for that dream, she encountered various struggles and problems, along with her new members in her School Idol Club, named Riko and You. Can Chika be able to reach for that light, and be able to find the “path” that leads her and her friends to an unknown future? This is a story where they could search for their own “radiance” as School Idols.
