A Digimon that Steals Time

This blog post may contain minimal spoilers as you read this. Please read this only if you have already seen this Episode. Otherwise, read this if you don’t care about minimal spoilers around.

EPISODE OVERVIEW

In the cities of Japan, they were surrounded by transparent, moving digital images called as Hologram Ghosts (I shall shorten them as HGs, from now on). But then, there are paranormal, glitched HGs that move around, and they toy around with other people’s lives.

One day, it has been rumoured that a ghost, knowingly named as the ‘Sewn-Lip Man’, has been taking lives of people by means of stealing and absorbing their timelines.

Hiro Amanokawa investigates on what’s something on the ‘Sewn-Lip Man’ urban legend, and he goes into the area with his friend to find out.

After the day of that scary, unraveling exploration, Hiro finally met his partner Digimon. His name is Gammamon. Also, his father appeared and he told him about the creatures, called as Digimons, that exists in their world, along with the Hologram Ghosts.

When Hiro gets Gammamon as his partner, while Gammamon calls him as his brother, this is where their ghost-busting adventures begin!

EPISODE REVIEW

As usual, we are at the first Episode where everything shall be introduced — in a slow manner!

The first Episode of this Digimon Anime series is not much of an action. In fact, there is not much action that you can see where they exchange blows, and… claws.

Basically, we can have the main heroes of this series, who is Hiro Amanokawa and his partner, Gammamon.

In the opening animation of this series, that comes first before the actual Episode starts, some characters are already foreshadowed and they can soon become Hiro’s future allies and… rivals.

For the animation part and some key animations, as usual, they are using the ‘traditional’ art style where most characters are always in their ‘kid’ art form, which actually they are teens in actual. Quite understandable that most characters spotted are of kids who were ranging at least 12 to 15 years of age, I guess? I don’t know and I am just judging their age by the style of the art.

For Gammamon, the white Digimon creature, somehow he represents some Digimon that almost have the same voices and qualities as him (Notably, a pseudo-spiritual successor of Gumdramon from Xros Wars / Fusion, perhaps?).

For the enemy Digimon that is nicknamed as the Sewn-Lip Man, his actual name is Clockmon. Yeah, and I still remember this Digimon when I played previously a Digimon game counterpart in a PlayStation One console when I was still young.

Yep, this is just the Episode One, and there are still more to expect. In fact, we haven’t seen too much action in this Episode! It’s just grabbing and escaping from the clutch, and then you smack ’em back! Then, they run way from you, lol

Expect something like these to always end in cliffhanger until this ends. Not only it excites people, but to make people who watch this can formulate and predict the outcome of what’s gonna happen next! Let’s see if I can watch another one of this! And also, the Digimon Series like this can run longer than the usual seasonal Anime shows that you are currently watching, so expect something like this! And to note, the last Digimon Series previously aired has been finished for at least 67 Episodes in total.

Again, this is the end of Episode One Review of Digimon Ghost Game! See you in Episode Two!

DIGIMON INTRO CORNER!

Alright! Let’s introduce a Digimon that appeared right here in this Episode Review! Basically, I shall do the same method that some previous Digimon shows that had done before (notably, Digimon Xros Wars, in which I have watched since 11 years ago)! So then, let’s begin!

Clockmon

Clockmon! A Digimon that manipulates time and space!

Name: Clockmon (クロックモン)
Type: Machine
Level: Champion
Attribute: Data
Special Attack: Chrono Breaker

Info acquired from Digimon Wiki: https://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Clockmon

A Digimon takes in a form of a golden alarm clock with a man on its back carrying a hammer. His special attack can instantly freeze, or otherwise stopping or delaying the time or movement of his opponents and other objects, and it is called, Chrono Breaker!

Wow, a Digimon that can control time and space. Be careful, especially if you encounter him, okay?

ABOUT DIGIMON SERIES (DIGITAL MONSTER)

The Digimon Series is a franchise or series created and developed by Akiyoshi Hongo in 1997, and was co-created with Toei Animation (one of the grandfathers of the known animation studios in Japan). It was actually based from the Digital Monster, a virtual pet digital game by Bandai, which was knowingly based from the popular Tamagotchi virtual pet digital game created by the same company, also.

Digimon is a shortened name for Digital Monsters (Japanese dubbed: デジタルモンスター). They are creatures in a digital form in which it can be raised by feeding items and foods, as well as battling with other Digimons (other people) in order to become strong and versatile.
