Hi! It’s me again, Slob! I am your usual Ugly Otaku who tries to talk about Otaku things!

So, let’s talk about something that most Otakus like me do. Of course, they stay up in the late night!

There are things in which there are reasons why some Otakus like me stay up late in the night, or in the sense that we are still having unfinished tasks, perhaps?

Basically, in Anime world, some Otakus like to stay up late in the night, not only because they wanted to. It is because they stay up late in the night because they are waiting for something. Much like… They are the “Hunters in the Night”. So called because most of the awesome things are usually happening in the late night, or notably during the midnight where most people usually sleep and they have slumber. There are some things which can’t be seen during the day, which can be only seen during nighttime. And then, some or all of the good things are usually happening in the nighttime.

Like for example. Most Anime shows are usually aired or streamed during the nights, or even midnights up to late nights. And that time, most people are sleeping already, while you are still awake waiting for that certain Anime Episode to be up and available. And again, this is just only one example.

Another example of the reason why some Otakus being like Hunters in the Night, because they can’t even sleep. Or in the sense that they are thinking of something else. I had experienced this kind of experience, such as the fact that I am creating something that my imagination tells me so. I just keep going and continuing of what I do during the whole day until I finally got my output. Then that’s the time that I could stop doing anything once I am finished with something. But then, the consequence of that such action can cause me to lose my track of time. It means, I am already losing my regular schedule or timeframe, in which it is always ending me up to stay up late in the night. So then, to summarize, not only because I can’t sleep, but the things that entered into my head are the reasons why I am ended up to stay up late in the night. And that is, I need to output everything out what my mind or imagination has told me.

And finally, the last, but not the least example, is why some Otakus are staying up late is because they are “marathoning” some past Anime series. Not totally a common reason why they stayed up late, but this one is of what I had experienced before. At the time that when I can’t get a sleep, what I do is just to watch some past Anime series. And then I watched them continuously until it is finished. But then, the consequence in doing this is that I had never got any sleep at all, and sometimes I will say and ask, “What? It is already early morning?” Basically, you would realize that you have already lost your track of time.

So then, Otakus trying to be Hunters in the Night can be risky, sometimes. Unless if your work is really urgent, and you want to finish it on a due time, then that’s the time that you could become one. However, you must not ever do this regularly when you got old, and you know what that means, right?

I am just an Ugly Otaku who is aging and becoming old gradually. And time will always come that we would eventually stop becoming Hunters in the Night because we can’t take it anymore. Taking the risk of staying up late, in the sense that our own health and life are at danger.

Just remember that when we grow older, it is not totally worth it to stay up late in the night. It is because everybody should need some daily regular sleeping hours. Or else, there are consequences with our own health, and it is just like taking up illegal drugs.
