Overview (Story)
You never need to stand out; just be yourself on who you are!

After the remaining Liella! members saw Kanon, Margarete, and Tomari’s live performance, it is up to them on the upcoming Yoyogi School Idol Festival to put up their own show. And for their new song, they have chosen Shiki to be their center, but Shiki got some doubts and hesitations.

Review
Review time! Well, the Crimson and Cobalt. Part 2.

In this Episode, the story will shift to Shiki Wakana, which in fact, it was just her another story from the previous SEASON TWO with Mei. Otherwise, the continuity.

While it is basically an Episode about Shiki, this will further elaborate Shiki’s another character development, which in fact she will be a “shadow center”, which in fact being one isn’t really her specialty. Mei is just around to comfort her, and it is really noted on some scenes where they hold hands at each other. So then, I can call this an another development — from SEASON TWO which is just only one hand, up to the 3rd Season where they both hold hands together.

Chisato nor the other Liella! members isn’t really forcing Shiki to be the center. But then, the idea of letting Shiki being the “shadow center” is delightfully a good move.

See those colored mugs? This is where Chisato had thought of an idea on having Shiki as the “shadow center” of their new song. They do have a representation, since these colors, other than white, do even stand out.

So then, the conflict here is Shiki can’t really become a center, and always having second thoughts. But then, what finally motivates her to do it? Of course, whenever we had hesitations and doubts, there would be always a person or thing that will motivate us to do it. And going back to the question: What motivates Shiki to become finally a center of their new song, Special Color? My answer will be just Mei, who is finally giving Shiki some motivation to try again, thanks from her friends in Liella! around.

For the insights of this Episode, a center doesn’t really have to approach and attack all things at once. Center is basically equal to leader. So that means, being a leader is also equal to responsibility. And responsibility is the one that will serve as the “key” to the fate of your group or friends. How complex to understand, isn’t it?

Another insight is the motivation. Whenever we are losing fires to do something we are working for, there would be ALWAYS a person or thing that will motivate us. It might be our friends, or your own crushes, perhaps?

Overall, this Episode will give viewers like me a definitive meaning of motivation, which is basically a thing we need when we can no longer work diligently for a thing anymore. And being a leader (center) doesn’t really mean you have to burden responsibility to please your audience, and to stand out better than others. And like Chisato said, the white color is a definitive meaning, where it doesn’t really stand out among other colors, but overlaps and blends itself to them instead. And that’s why the MV of Special Color is so bright and dazzling, for me.

So far, a Shiki Episode that doesn’t really stand out, but good enough for the insights.

“Really unacceptable and impossible!” Yep, her reaction about my insights.

My Rating: GOOD (4.3/5)

Review Rating Summary and Breakdown

Story: (4/5) – So far, I liked the story on how it’s executed by piece. No waste of time.
Animation: (4/5) – Yep, so far, so good. Yet the “Special Color” MV is way too bright.
Insights: (5/5) – There would be ALWAYS a person or thing that will motivate us, whenever we are losing the fire to do things. And being a leader/center doesn’t really mean you have to really stand out — Being humble is also a key!
