An existing TV Anime series has appeared in 1993.
Gosho Aoyama, who is also known for creating the “Detective Conan” Manga series, has created the YAIBA manga series.
Shogakukan announced the new TV Anime adaptation of this said manga series via YouTube.
Gosho Aoyama published YAIBA, and was serialized under Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1988 to 1993, spanning for over 24 volumes.
The story of the Manga series describes:
The protagonist, Kurogane Yaiba, is a samurai wild child who trains in the jungle with his father, Kenjurou. By a twist of fate, the determined samurai, Yaiba, returns to Japan and encounters his rival, Onimaru Takeshi. Yaiba, who lives for serious battles, embarks on a spectacular adventure when Onimaru obtains the “Legendary Demon Sword!”

There is also an existing TV Anime series, under the title, “Yaiba: The Legend of the Master Swordsman“, or “剣勇伝説YAIBA” (Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba) in 1993. This Anime series was previously aired in 1995 by ABC5 (now TV5 Philippines).
