Overview (Story)
Liella! has advanced to the next round of the LoveLive! event. They even asked Kinako to write lyrics for their new song for the Tokyo qualifiers of the event. And the top of that, Ren wants Kinako to be the new student council president of the school.
Review
This time, the Episode will be focusing more on Kinako Sakurakoji, as hinted in the previous Episode where she is noted for not being standing out as a character. She is somehow put with Margarete when it comes to their qualities, such as on how do they stand out on the stage. But then, this time, it has tried to resolve the missing links from the previous season, where she is finally introduced. And I do still remember that when she was introduced in the previous SEASON TWO, her character was not properly elaborated, despite that she was along with Mei, Shiki, and Natsumi. And now, as a solo character, it was finally addressed in this season.
I do really like on how Kinako is struggling to become really standing out here, despite that she can be a no-good-person when it comes to leadership and such. It is really a proof that trying your best is good, no matter what the odds are. And then, it is really heartful that Kinako finally becomes the next “leader”, thanks to the inspiration and motivation of her friends who helped her. But then, there is only one thing that drives Kinako in order overcome those things — inspiration.
And so, Kinako gained a major character development here, wherein she was finally taken the role of a full-responsible, diligent student council president, from just being a clumsy student. Sometimes, I can really compare her to Ren, who is also indeed shy and pure. But overall, Kinako is a sweet and pure girl, and comparing to Ren, she is indeed shy and modest. Only, the difference is that she is sometimes clumsy and awkward at times.
10 Episodes, and still no sign of Sunny Passion since the previous season. But then, it is never a concern!
Overall, this Episode is really showing that some characters, especially those people who founded Liella!, are indeed passing the baton. So what does that mean? When it finally comes to graduation, all things will become indeed from happy to sad, where it will shed one’s tears. (But then, how is it related to my review anyway?)
My thoughts in this Episode is that it is really good and inspiration. Some characters do even really need a person or a thing in order to gain inspiration. It is because without inspiration, we cannot do anything, no matter how hard we think of some ideas that we make. And about being a leader, it is not determined on how really skillful and diligent we are. It is about having compassion with others, and trying to help them whenever they have troubles. School idols help out each other, despite if they are rivals or not. It is a fact that we are helping each other in order to reach for our dreams, and that’s one of the oaths, right?
Overall, this Episode is good and inspirational, without even the main character breaking the spotlight for Kinako. And that MV part, Egao no Promise, is really glowing…
My Rating: GOOD (4/5)
Review Rating Summary and Breakdown
Story: (4/5) – It has finally resolved Kinako’s character part, in which it was never shown in the previous SEASON TWO. Plot-pacing is just right, and the story is indeed straightforward, making me focused on what’s happening.
Animation: (4/5) – Just right. Egao no Promise MV is really bright when it blends with white colors of their costumes.
Insights: (4/5) – Without inspiration (sometimes inspo), we can’t do anything from scratch no matter how hard we think for ideas. And remember that inspirations can be a person or a thing that we even care or love.
