[INTERVIEW] Chaeri Ichigo’s Plans to Shift Into Cosplay from Performing

An Idol who dances, to Cosplaying

Inori Donz has conducted a voiced interview with Chaeri Ichigo, a Cosplayer and a performer, who also guested in the recent Anime Fair – Back to School -Moving Up- by Ozine Events last May 30, 2026, at The Annex L4, in SM North EDSA, in Quezon City.

Chaeri has shared her thoughts about her Cosplay hobby, as well as her journey in being an idol who dances on the stage.

Also, Chaeri shared to Inori Donz about her experiences and difficulties on how to deal with a stalker that bothered her all along, whether personal or online.

“Bahala ka na dyan.” (It’s up to you) Chaeri also shared that just blocking all of her stalker’s dummy accounts isn’t an easy job. Especially, if she founds out that one of her close friends and staff were being also disturbed by this stalker.

Chaeri Ichigo also hinted to Inori Donz in the voiced interview that she might be stepping down, or laying down low in being a dancing idol in the future. In short, either she goes on a hiatus, or will step down from being an idol who dances on the stage soon. She will soon focus more on Cosplaying activities.

“So, it’s for the best. It’s for my health.”, she said. She also mentioned to Inori Donz about her health disease that only few know about.

Chaeri Ichigo is very thankful to her fans who kept her supporting in some events for years. She has recently performed on the Day 1 of Anime Fair – Back to School -Moving Up- by Ozine Events last May 30, 2026, at The Annex L4, in SM North EDSA.

Q: How is your idol experience going so far?

A: And I had a lot of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t stand back. Much stronger this time.

So, my specialty is dancing — I am really a dancer. And my vocals are not really trained (chuckles) —- so that’s my very weak point. Since I was young, I was only covering dances. But now, I am attempting to sing more for the vibes now. I am not skilled in singing, but at least… Just confidence!

So… That’s it.

So, I will be thinking of break from idoling, and I will be focusing more on Cosplay.

I am actually excited on some future events and gigs, and I hope you all guys will keep supporting me.

Q: So recently, there are stalking incidents that happened to you. How are you able to deal with it, whether online or personal?

A: Actually, it’s so difficult to deal it with, especially if it is consistent. There are so lot of dummy accounts — it’s so difficult.

Especially my staffs and my close friends of my staff are being disturbed, that’s being so ugly. So my action was to block all of the accounts, dummy accounts…

Even if it is past a year, he is still continuous. It’s like… “Bahala ka na dyan”. (It’s up to you)

It’s so difficult to deal with. You should have a stronger… courage (lakas ng loob).

Q: So, you are hinting some of your future activities as an idol or a Cosplayer. In case if you are going on a hiatus, or you stop on your future activities as an idol, what is the next step that you are going to do as yourself as a person who participates as a guest in some events?

A: It will still continue. I will be online more. And there are lot of online contents.
Since I am a Cosplayer, I can interact more. Because if I am an idol, there are things that we are not allowed to do. It’s like, we aren’t allowed to fight. (chuckles)

So, at least, no one should fight. (laughs)

Because if you become a Cosplayer, if it is events, it’s more flexible. You can guest as a Cosplayer. And then, it’s advantages are the same…

So, it’s for the best. It’s for my health. I think some others might know it, too… I have this rheumatic heart disease. My hyperactivity on the stage, it’s just adrenaline. So for my health, I lay-low in performing.

Q: Messages for everyone

A: Thank you for joining me in some events! And to everyone who loved and supported me — thank you everyone.

And being an idol has been one of the most beautiful, and unforgettable chapters of my life. Now moving forward, as I expand my career, I hope that you were able to remember me, and I hope that you well looking forward on me soon because I have some surprises for you!
